DREW Kemp, a former British Under-19 Champion, has expressed his gratitude to Berwick for their pivotal role in his recent success. In his second year at Shielfield Park, Kemp raised his Cab Direct Championship average above eight and also triumphed in the Argentinean International Championship this winter. Despite having a top-flight berth in the UK with Leicester, Kemp has chosen not to race in the Championship this year to pursue other opportunities.
Kemp reflects, "There is no question Berwick got the best out of me. I wouldn't be enjoying the opportunities with Daugavpils and Argentina if it weren't for the past two years with them." He further elaborates on his decision, "I didn't want to go anywhere else and spoke seriously to Stewart Dickson and Jamie Courtney about doing another year there. Logistically, it's challenging with Berwick being a 14-hour round trip from home every Saturday, and fitting in Poland just wasn't possible."
