Australian Politics: Senator's Resignation Threat Over Climate Policy

Opposition energy spokesperson Dan Tehan suggested potential subsidies for coal and gas producers and extending the lifespan of coal-fired power stations to achieve 'energy abundance', which he claims will reduce energy prices. This proposal raises questions about the balance between emissions reduction and energy security.
As the Liberals work to finalize their policies, the fate of the 'net zero' term in their platform remains uncertain.
