Auditions for Miss Saigon: Join the Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre (2025)

Are you ready to be part of a theatrical experience that will leave audiences spellbound? Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre is now casting for the critically acclaimed musical Miss Saigon—a powerful tale of love, sacrifice, and resilience set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. But here’s where it gets controversial: Can a story so deeply rooted in historical pain still resonate with modern audiences? We think so, and we’re looking for performers who can bring this timeless narrative to life.

From the creators of Les Misérables, Miss Saigon has captivated the world with its sweeping score, stunning visuals, and emotionally charged story. Follow the journey of Kim, a young Vietnamese woman, and Chris, an American soldier, as they navigate the turmoil of war and the depths of human connection. And this is the part most people miss: the intricate layers of characters like Thuy, Gigi, and Ellen, whose stories add complexity and depth to this epic tale.

We’re casting on a rolling basis until all roles are filled, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this Tony Award-winning production. Rehearsals begin on February 15, 2026, with the show opening on March 6 and closing on April 5. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Kim (Lead, 18-20s, Soprano/Mezzo-Soprano): A young, innocent Vietnamese woman whose journey from innocence to resilience and tragedy will break your heart. Vocal range: E3 to D5. Audition songs: “I’d Give My Life for You” and “The Movie in My Mind”.
  • Chris (Lead, 20s-30s, Tenor): An American GI torn between his love for Kim and his duty to his country. Vocal range: B2 to B4. Audition songs: “Why God Why?” and “The Last Night of the World”.
  • Ellen (Understudy, 20s-30s, Mezzo-Soprano): Chris’s American wife, compassionate yet strong-willed, struggling with his unresolved past. Vocal range: F3 to D5. Audition songs: “Now That I’ve Seen Her” and “I Still Believe”.
  • Thuy (20s-30s, Baritone/Tenor): Kim’s cousin and betrothed, fiercely loyal yet increasingly menacing. Vocal range: B2 to G4. Audition songs: “CoCo Princess” and “Thuy’s Death”.
  • Gigi Van Tranh (20s-30s, Mezzo-Soprano): A world-weary Vietnamese bar girl dreaming of a better future. Vocal range: G3 to D5. Audition song: “The Movie in My Mind”.
  • Male and Female Ensemble: All ages to cover roles including GIs, dancers, bar girls, and chorus singers.

To be considered, submit a vocal reel, performance reel, headshot, and resume. Visit SUNCOASTBROADWAYCASTING.COM for audition materials and fill out the application form here.

Here’s the deal: Fully furnished housing, Wi-Fi, utilities, travel stipend, shared company cars, meals on show days, and additional income opportunities—all under the Florida sunshine! Salary ranges from $500 to $800 per week.

But here’s the question we leave you with: Can a musical truly capture the complexities of war and love? Does Miss Saigon honor its historical context, or does it romanticize it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and don’t miss this chance to be part of something extraordinary. Apply now—we can’t wait to see your talent shine!
